IFS (International Food Safety) Consultation

IFS Standards are food, product, and service standards that are consistent. They ensure that IFS-certified organisations create a product or provide a service that meets client criteria, all while trying to improve processes. IFS seeks to assure customer comparability and transparency across the supply chain, as well as to minimise costs for suppliers and retailers.

The Pillars Supporting Global Safety and Quality Standards

Feature here is a consultancy specialisation by DagangHalal of the International Featured Standards (IFS).

The IFS is comprised of eight different food and non-food standards, covering the processes along the supply chain. However, IFS does not specify what these processes must look like but merely provides a risk-based assessment of them. The different standards are now used by manufacturers and retailers worldwide to meet new requirements for quality, transparency and efficiency resulting from globalisation.

To ensure our standards meet the needs of all partners, we develop them together with suppliers and retailers as well as certification bodies. Specific topics that are relevant for individual groups can be found in the dedicated sections of our website. All general information can be accessed from the standard page.

IFS Standards are uniform food, product and service standards. They ensure that IFS-certified companies produce a product or provide a service that complies with customer specifications, while continually working on process improvements.

IFS was founded in 2003 under the name International Food Standard. Since then the company, which records an annual growth of 10,9 percent, has expanded its range by six further standards and operates globally.

All IFS-related information is published in five primary languages: German, English, Spanish, French and Italian. IFS aims to ensure comparability and transparency for the consumer throughout the entire supply chain, and to reduce costs for suppliers and retailers. These goals are implemented not only by the IFS team, but also by the IFS board and the ITC (IFS Technical Committee).
